Active Life is helping deliver the Oysterman Triathlon alongside the event organiser. We are the leading health and leisure centre operator in the Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable area. We currently operate Kingsmead Leisure Centre, The Bay Sports Arena, Herons Leisure Centre, Whitstable Sports Centre and Whitstable Swimming Pool.

Active Life is a non-profit making distribution Trust which means that all income is invested back into the centres ensuring you enjoy some of the best possible facilities available.

What you need to know

As part of the Active Life Tri series, we bring you Whitstable's second Oysterman triathlon. Based in the heart of the town this is a very unique sprint distance event consisting of a 500m sea swim followed by a 23km cycle and finishing with a stunning yet flat 5km coastal run. With training sessions and introduction to triathlon through GoTri sessions in the lead up to the event, it is aimed at complete beginners all the way up to seasoned triers. Become an official Oysterman/woman, bragging rights guaranteed!

The registration area and transition is all along Tankerton Slopes, opposite the Marine Hotel and St Anne's Tennis courts just outside the centre of the town. There is parking along Marine Parade, the side roads off Marine Parade and Tankerton Road car park is a 2 minute walk away and can cater for 40 cars. If coming from Whitstable station or the car park, head towards the sea and follow the seafront until you can sea the Marine Hotel on the seafront.
