Trades Hall Of Glasgow, Glasgow, United Kingdom

What you need to know

You are invited to the launch of the Charter of Rights for People Affected by Substance Use.

The National Collaborative's vision is to integrate human rights into drug and alcohol policy, leading to better outcomes for people affected by substance use and their families. The Charter aims to support people to advocate for high quality treatment for drug and/or alcohol use and for access to support for other aspects of their lives. It also aims to support people designing, delivering and monitoring services to ensure services are provided in a manner that respects the rights, agency and dignity of people affected by substances.

The launch event will take place on the morning of December 11th from 10.45am – 11.40am, followed by a networking lunch. There will be a “National Dialogue” discussion in the afternoon, from 1pm – 4.15pm with guest speakers including the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, all are welcome to attend.

In the context of this work, the broadest definition of substance use is being used. This may relate (but is not limited) to: alcohol, illegal drugs, prescription drugs.
