Roundtable on successful lived experience platforms

Tuesday, December 2, 2025
The Boardwalk, Glasgow, United Kingdom

What you need to know

This event is for anyone interested in how lived experience can shape better services, stronger communities, and more inclusive policy — whether you work in health, social care, community development, advocacy, or beyond. A payment and travel expenses are available for people with lived experience.

While the event draws on learning from gambling harm, the conversations and insights will be relevant to any sector where lived experience matters. If you’re curious about or want to share how to build platforms that are safe, inclusive, and genuinely influential, this is a space for you.

Why come along?

  • Learn from inspiring speakers with lived experience and policy expertise
  • Explore what works — and what doesn’t — when it comes to lived experience involvement
  • Connect with others who care about meaningful engagement and co-production
  • Shape ambitious next steps for lived experience platforms across sectors
  • Reflect on values, principles, and practical supports that make a real difference

Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, your perspective is welcome. This is a space to listen, share, and co-create ideas for the future.

What’s happening on the day

  • Morning sessions will focus on inspiration, learning, and understanding:
    • A lived experience speaker will share their journey from recovery to advocacy
    • Small group discussions will explore what makes platforms work — and what gets in the way
    • A panel will unpack the differences between recovery-focused and policy-focused platforms
  • Afternoon sessions will turn toward ambition and action:
    • A policy speaker will highlight why lived experience is essential to meaningful change
    • A collaborative workshop will help us imagine what ambitious platforms could achieve
    • We’ll close with reflections, next steps, and opportunities to stay involved
