Public sector development partner Hub South West, in collaboration with Kier, Turner & Townsend, BE-ST, Ayrshire College, and the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a Net Zero Skills event for SME engagement on 3 April 2025 at the Willie Mackie Skills Hub, Kilwinning Campus.
This complimentary event follows two highly successful net zero events held in Dumfries and Galloway. It aims to equip local SMEs with the necessary knowledge to become net zero ready and to operate within the evolving sustainability landscape. The event will address the technical sustainability aspects that need to be considered when tendering for work.
As part of the programme, senior members of the Hub South West team and consultancy partners will outline the changing sustainability policy landscape and its implications for Scotland. Additionally, Tier one construction partners will participate in a facilitated workshop to detail their requirements from the supply chain.
These events are designed to strengthen relationships with local companies, bringing together like-minded businesses committed to sustainable practices. They will play a critical role in driving collective action towards reducing carbon emissions and ensuring that the local built environment SME base is well-positioned to tender for work.
