Carymoor Environmental Trust, Castle Cary, United Kingdom
Bring your family to Carymoor to learn more about the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Using our unique site on a capped landfill, our team will explain the benefits of recycling, show you around our nature reserve and include plenty of fun and games.
During the morning you will:
- Visit our time tunnel and find out what is buried in the landfill site and what happens to our rubbish now.
- See how the capped landfill site has been turned into a nature reserve, full of wildlife.
- See how garden waste is transformed into compost at Biffa's composting site.
- Take part in our 3R's themed games and challeneges, fun for all the family.
You are welcome to bring a picnic and stay to have your lunch after the event finishes at 12.30pm.
These events are FREE to Somerset residents thanks to support from Somerset Waste Partnership however places must be booked in adavance.
Please note: These events are suitable for children aged 5-11 and their parents/carers. Those attending must be residents in the county of Somerset (not BANES or North Somerset). Children must be accompanied by an adult. Spaces are limited for this event and we have space for 6 families (max of 5 people per family ticket).
