Dragonflies and Damselflies with Jon Van Gowler

Up-skill your interest, identification skills and recording skills on this day course. Identification and data analysis are important skills when managing a conservation area or habitat. 

This 5 hour course will focus on dragonfly and damselfly identification. It will also look at tenerals (the newly emerged adults that is still hardening its exoskeleton and developing its final colours), gender identification and common confusions.

Jon is a member of RoAM (Recorders of the Avalon Marshes). This is a volunteer organisation that works closely with Natural England, Somerset Wildlife Trust, RSPB and other local organisations.

Our event runs from 10am to 3.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £15.00 per person.

Please book a wheelchair ticket to reserve an all-terrain mobility scooter.

There will be a maximum of 20 people on this event.

We will provide refreshments but please bring a packed lunch. 

The event will run whatever the weather so please do come prepared for whatever the British weather may throw at us.  Long trousers and enclosed shoes are recommended as there are ticks on the site.
