A message from the Ride Organiser;

This pleasure ride venue is at Plumpton racecourse where we have access to toilets (showers!) and plenty of parking.  Whilst we cannot use the racetrack itself (shame!) it is a lovely spacious venue so perfect for the novice horse.

The route starts with bridleways and quiet lanes before heading up on the South Downs to some glorious canter tracks, a steep descent before a fairly flat route back to the Venue via bridleways.  The route has been slightly altered from previous years and is now a true 20km, so a gate allowance will be given.  The exact number of gates will be displayed on the day, with the time allowance; as I’ve found in previous years, the farmers can change the use right up to the week before, altering how many gates are in place, or closed.  In a typical year there will be 10 gates to open, therefore a time allowance of 5 minutes will be added to the minimum and maximum times noted on the ride information.

I look forward to receiving your entries, if you have any questions please email me: jenniferanderson@waitrose.com.
