About Us

EskFest is an independent, volunteer-run, off-grid music and arts festival, set at the foot of Scafell Pike in Eskdale - the Lake District, UK. Now leading up to our 11th year, EskFest's motto remains "not bigger, just better", and focusses on delivering the best event possible, despite its small size.

This micro-festival offers 4 stages of music and arts programming with over 60 bands and artists from all over the country, 30+ workshops, multiple stalls, hand-selected food stalls, some excellent bars, camping, glamping, campervan pitches, day tickets, a valley shuttle bus, and much more.

We are a cash only festival, there is no phone signal here, and being off grid means that everything from water to power is brought in especially for the event.

Some info before buying tickets:

- Our closest address is The Woolpack Inn, Eskdale, CA19 1TH (just next door).

- Campers & Glamping Belle Tent dwellers can drop off their stuff at the campsite entrance drop-off before heading to the car park.

- Under 5s go free, but will still need a ticket (for our numbers).

- Follow us on instagram and facebook for regular updates - @eskfest

- We are a cash only festival

- Very poor phone signal here, but limited wifi in the pub next door.

- The valley shuttle bus runs on Eskdale time (!) and travels between the King George IV pub and the festival between 11am and 1am on Friday & Saturday, and between 5pm and 1am on Thursday.

EskFest benefits from being held in a beautiful, fairly remote location. The flipside of this is that getting here will need a bit of thought. See the map on the 'Info/FAQs' page on our website to have a look at where we are if you don't know already. By car, we strongly suggest avoiding the Hardknott and Wrynose passes and instead recommend routes over Birker Fell (still very steep & windy in places) and on the A595 coast road. You can get into Eskdale via train by arriving into Ravenglass and then taking the famous "la'l Ratty" mini steam train into Dalegarth station.
