What you need to know

The Yorkshire Lifting League is a team Olympic lifting competition bringing boxes and athletes together to take part in monthly lifting matches. The matches take place both home and away between teams of 4 lifters. Due to the unique scoring system, lifters of any sex or bodyweight can be pitted against one another in these fun, friendly lifting matches.

The leagues will be made up of 8 teams and you would be required to lift once per month. We can utilise numerous divisions within each league (east/west) if interest permits with promotion/demotion in the hope that within a short period of time we can produce some really competitive matches as well as a stage where beginners will feel comfortable competing. Each team can be made of a large pool of lifters with any 4 from the pool taking part in the match. The only restriction is once a lifter has lifted for a team they're ineligible to represent another team for the remainder of that season.

The aim is to start the first round of matches in May with a final between the East and West leagues in December.
