Directed by Liam Bergin
What if? Perhaps one of the questions we ask ourselves the most. There are numerous ways to both ask and answer this one question, and this play attempts to explore them all.
First staged at the Royal Court Theatre in 2012, Constellations ventures into the world of quantum physics; jumping in all directions of the multiverse. As the plot examines the theory of quantum mechanics, it specifically focuses on one couple’s relationship while they live through their parallel lives.
Following heartbreak, hope, and everything in between. The play shows how even the smallest change in our lives can dramatically alter the course it takes.
Posing existential questions that affirm life, love, and companionship, Nick Payne explores the multiverse in a playfully intelligent way. Payne is a British playwright and screenwriter, also known for his work Incognito and If There Is I Haven’t Found it Yet.
Friday Night and Alex has a free house.
The playlist is curated, the valuables are locked away, the drinks are flowing and someone has misplaced their cat…
Joined by an eccentric collection of friends and well-wishers, Alex plays host to equine enthusiasts, Finnish exchange students, Karaoke devotees, Eco warriors, influencers, entrepreneurs and someone’s mum.
But will all the ingredients make for the perfect party?
Having shared our own experiences of house parties and teenage mistakes, we discovered a wealth of material for an ensemble piece. Developed over 6 weeks, our group of thirty - led by experienced director Adam Fuller- found a process focused on freedom and joy. With a foundation based in an exploration of physical movement, our content organically grew into an eclectic mix of characters and stories.
Creating connections across the piece allowed us to play with the many constituent parts that make up the animal that is a party.
This booking is for Thursday 15 July 18:30.
This performance is a double bill for Constellations performed by the Rubies, directed by Liam Bergin, followed by a Full Company Ensemble Devising performance, directed by Adam Fuller.
