  • Truths That Keep Me Up At Night

2:40-3:40pm Session 2 

  • Option 1 - Israel, a crumbling democracy/ losing our home - crisis and what it might mean to our sense of identity as humans and as Jewish people. 
  • Option 2 - Planet, what to do when the world burns? A look at climate and catastrophe and how it might impact our lives , thinking and existence.

3:40-4:00pm Tea Break

4:00-5:00pm  Session 3

  • Option 1 with guest Kohnet Rachel Rose Reid -  Return Again, For our ancestors, the journey towards the New Year and Yom Kippur was a whole season of internal and external pilgrimage, peppered with grave-visiting, candle-making, deep-night gatherings , even full moon rituals by the sea. Learn about some long-held and  lesser known Jewish customs,  and consider how we might  adapt them for our own times.

  • Option 2 - Life in the time of revolt – impact and choice – learning session looking at texts from war and revolt and understanding how it impacts us.

About our guest teacher: Rachel has led devotional song circles and services for HaMakom, the Psychedlic Society, New London Synagogue, and Wilderness Torah. She is co-director of Yelala, which renews and revives knowledge of Jewish women's spiritual leadership from antiquity to the present day. This Autumn Rachel will be teaching about ritual-craft for the UnYeshiva, and Jewish grief rituals and amulets for Yelala's annual online series, Cottage in the Woods. @yelala_kohenet @rachelrosereid yelala.co.uk

  • Who do I commit to being this year? Personal, communal and for the world.  Setting intentions and takeaways for the year ahead.
