By purchasing a ticket for Houghton RUFC Cowpat Bingo, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
Cowpat Bingo is a fundraising event organised by Houghton Rugby Union Football Club (Houghton RUFC).
The designated area of the rugby pitch will be divided into numbered squares. Each ticket purchased corresponds to a numbered square.
On the day of the event, a cow will be released into the designated and securely enclosed area of the pitch. The winning square will be the square in which the cow deposits the first qualifying cowpat.
Each ticket represents one numbered square in the Cowpat Bingo grid.
Tickets are valid only once payment has been received and the corresponding square has been allocated.
Participants may purchase more than one ticket/square, subject to availability.
Tickets are non-refundable except where Houghton RUFC determines that a refund is appropriate.
The location of the first qualifying cowpat will be determined by event officials appointed by Houghton RUFC.
If the cowpat falls across more than one square, the winning square will be the square containing the largest proportion of the cowpat.
If event officials cannot reasonably determine which square contains the largest proportion, the winner will be selected at random from the affected squares.
The decision of the event officials will be final.
The main Cowpat Bingo prize will be the prize advertised by Houghton RUFC when tickets are placed on sale.
The prize will be paid to the registered purchaser of the winning ticket/square.
Winners will be contacted using the details provided when purchasing their ticket.
Houghton RUFC intends to run Cowpat Bingo as advertised where reasonably practicable.
However, the event relies upon sufficient ticket sales to cover the costs of staging the event and provide a worthwhile fundraising return for the Club.
If, in the opinion of Houghton RUFC, insufficient tickets have been sold for the Cowpat Bingo event to proceed as originally advertised, the Club reserves the right to replace the Cowpat Bingo element with a random prize draw.
In this circumstance:
Every valid ticket purchased will automatically be entered into the random draw.
Each ticket will represent one entry, so purchasers of multiple tickets will receive the corresponding number of entries.
The winner will be selected at random from all valid paid tickets.
The winner will receive a cash prize of £500.
No additional payment or entry will be required.
The random draw will take place on, or as close as reasonably practicable to, the advertised Cowpat Bingo event date.
Details of the winner will be announced through Houghton RUFC's usual communication channels.
The random draw and £500 prize will replace the originally advertised Cowpat Bingo prize in these circumstances.
The welfare of the animal used during the event is paramount. The cow will be appropriately supervised and handled by competent persons.
Spectators must remain outside the designated animal area and follow instructions given by event officials.
Houghton RUFC reserves the right to delay, suspend or stop the Cowpat Bingo activity where necessary for reasons of animal welfare, safety, weather, pitch conditions or circumstances outside the Club's reasonable control.
A reasonable period will be allowed for the cow to produce a qualifying cowpat.
If no qualifying cowpat is produced within the period determined by the event organisers, Houghton RUFC reserves the right to determine the winner by a fair random draw from all valid ticket holders.
Unless otherwise announced by the Club, the prize offered for the main Cowpat Bingo event will remain applicable in this circumstance.
Houghton RUFC reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the event arrangements where necessary due to weather, animal welfare, safety requirements, circumstances outside the Club's control or other operational reasons.
Where the physical Cowpat Bingo event cannot safely or reasonably take place, Houghton RUFC may determine the winner by a random draw from all valid paid entries.
The winner may be required to provide reasonable evidence that they are the registered purchaser of the winning ticket.
The Club will make reasonable attempts to contact the winner using the contact information supplied at the time of purchase.
Houghton RUFC may announce the winner's name and winning square/ticket number through its website, social media channels and other Club communications.
Any photographs or additional personal information will only be used where appropriate and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
Houghton RUFC's decision regarding the operation of the event, determination of the winning square and any random draw will be final.
Tickets may not be exchanged for another square once allocated except at the discretion of the organisers.
Houghton RUFC reserves the right to refuse or cancel an entry where there is evidence of fraud, payment failure, manipulation of the competition or breach of these Terms & Conditions.
By purchasing a Cowpat Bingo ticket, participants confirm that they have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
