Research shows that developing children’s foundational writing knowledge does not end in Key Stage 1. If pupils do not continue to deepen, secure and refine these skills throughout Key Stage 2, gaps will begin to emerge, affecting confidence, independence and stamina.

In this training, delegates will explore how to structure the curriculum for writers in Year 4, so that the teaching approach and assessment strategies support pupils to become secure, fluent writers by the end of Year 6.
