London Irish Rifles Lodge No. 2312 Banner Dedication and Loos Dinner

Friday, September 27, 2024

What you need to know

London Irish Rifles Lodge No 2312 is holding a Banner dedication ceremony on September 27th at 16.30 hours. The ceremony will be combined with the Loos Dinner. The ceremony is for Masons only, but a guided tour of Freemasons Hall has been arranged for non-masons or partners of masons. The main battle honour for the London Irish Rifles is the Battle of Loos in 1915. The battle is noteworthy because Rifleman Frank Edwards and others kicked a football across no man's land. The ball was recovered and is a certified Great War Artefact. There will be a 30-minute presentation of the Battle story and an opportunity to see the ball in the evening. After this, we will have a white table and a festive board where all are welcome.
