🚤 Private Charter Adventure — Trip of a Lifetime!

This trip isn’t for every budget, but it truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

We’ve pre-booked trips for:

  • Friday 4th September

  • Monday 7th September

  • Tuesday 8th September

Last year, these trips sold out in days — so don’t wait!

Important info:

  • If there’s enough interest, we may run 2 boats of 24 people, but these will need to be booked quickly. Otherwise, the second boat may be released or the trip moved to another day.

  • The whole boat must be booked for the trip to go ahead. If boats aren’t full by May, we reserve the right to cancel.

  • We recommend booking extra nights’ accommodation with free cancellation, in case we need to cancel or adjust the date.

🌊 Treshnish Islands — Rough Trip Itinerary

Departure: Oban at 08:30 (PA345PZ)

  1. South Mull & Iona: Sail along the south side of Mull, past Loch Buie and through the Torran Rocks, arriving at Iona (~1h45m). Explore the Abbey and village.

  2. Staffa & Fingal’s Cave: Sail up the Sound of Iona to Staffa (~20 min). Depending on swell and landing conditions, you may be able to enter the Cave!

  3. Treshnish Islands: Sail round Lunga and land via large dinghy (rocky shoreline — good boots required). Wild swimmers can enjoy a dip in the warm waters.

  4. North Mull & Tobermory: Sail through Treshnish Islands and round North Mull into Tobermory (~1h10m) — quick stop for sightseeing and facilities.

  5. Return to Oban: Down the Sound of Mull, back to Oban at ~17:30

⚠️ Important Trip Information — Weather & Timing

This private charter trip is weather dependent. We’ll give as much notice as possible if sea conditions are unsuitable or if we need to change direction due to wind or swell. Depending on conditions, we may travel the opposite way around Mull, stopping at Tobermory first.

Lunch:

  • We recommend bringing a packed lunch and drinks.  You can buy lunch in Tobermory is later in the day.

Timing:

  • Trips usually run from 08:30 – 17:30, but exact times are flexible depending on how long you spend at each stop.

  • We suggest spending most of your time at Lunga (Treshnish Islands) to see the Puffins.

  • Typical stop durations: ~1.5 hours at Lunga, ~1 hour in Iona, ~40 minutes in Tobermory.

Accommodation:

  • Please ensure you’ve booked accommodation in Oban for the evening after the trip unless you’re driving home.

  • This trip is a fantastic way to start or finish your Oban Lesbian+ Weekend experience!
