Penshurst Church is delighted to host five up and coming young pianists from the Trinity Laban Conservatory in Greenwich London. These music students are starting out on their careers and will be playing on the recently purchased Bluthner in the beautiful surroundings of Penshurst Church. The series takes us through European Romantic piano from Chopin and Schubert to Boulanger, Scriabin and De Falla. These young pianists will show their formidable piano technique in four concerts each starting at 730 and finishing around 930. This is a chance to hear a selection of really talented newcomers showcasing the most beautiful and approachable classical music. At the age of five, Singaporean pianist
Jun-Hwei Lim embarked on a musical journey under the guidance of his father,
Kee-Poh Lim, a distinguished graduate of the Aaron Copland School of Music, NY,
and a protégé of eminent pianists including Gerald Robbins, Morey Ritt, and
Donald Pirone. Currently, at 23, Jun-Hwei is honing his craft at Trinity Laban
Conservatoire under the mentorship of Prof. Deniz Arman Gelenbe.
