Sarah, based on the true stories of the Maa people in the Loita Hills, is the first-ever feature film in Kimaasai and was shot in an improvised format with first-time actors who have lived and experienced the story the film tells. The story follows Sarah, a young girl, who loves her school, but traditional Maasai culture and the pressures of a long drought are about to change her life. A generous dowry offer means her family must decide whether to conduct traditional circumcision (FGC) and accept this offer, or miss a rare chance to rebuild their wealth.
