What you need to know

The Rolex Middle Sea Race takes place in the heart of the Mediterranean and covers one of the most beautiful courses in the world. The race starts in Malta and heads for the Straits of Messina before circumnavigating Sicily, passing the breathtaking islands of Pantelleria and Lampedusa before returning back to Malta for the finish. The Rolex Middle Sea Race even features Stromboli's active volcano as a course mark!

You will join our popular skipper Jacko on board our Beneteau 40.7 yacht on Monday 17 October for on the water training and preparation including competing in the Rolex Middle Sea Coastal Race, which is a great warm-up race! You will be a fully involved in the racing throughout, making you an important and valued member of the race team.

Famous for incredible sunsets and the opportunity to race in shorts, the 600nM ROLEX Middle Sea Race 2016 starts in the stunning harbour under the magnificent historic city of Valetta with the walls lined with cheering spectators! 

The Rolex Middle Sea Race is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular races in the World, combining awe-inspiring scenery with warm waters and competitive offshore racing.

2016 Dates:

          Arrive in Malta: Monday 17 October
          Training starts: Tuesday 18 October
          Coastal Race: Wednesday 19 October
          Race starts: Saturday 22 October
          Prize Giving: Saturday 29 October 
          Depart Malta: Sunday 30 October  

All race entry and mooring fees, 4 days training and preparation, the Warm-Up Coastal Race and the Middle Sea Race, professional racing skipper and first mate, food aboard yacht whilst racing and training and team shirt to keep.

Cost:  £1,995 per person.  25% (£498.75) payable to book on with balance due 8 weeks before. Installment options available.

We recommend you look for flights to arrive into Malta on Monday 17 October, ready to start training on Tuesday.  Please advice us of your expected arrival time so we can let the skipper (Jacko) know. The yacht will be berthed at the Royal Malta Yacht Club.

Accommodation

You should book shoreside accommodation for the training days (Monday 17 October night - Saturday 22 October morning) and night after the race (the boat will be full of food and sails, and its still very warm in Malta in October so you will definitely be more comfortable ashore!). 

There are lots of hotels of all prices available in the nearby districts of Sliema, St Juliens or Gzira.
