Premanjali is a husband-and-wife duo composed of singer-songwriter Elise Kamala and drummer-producer Charlie Hari, who passionately create and share devotional music inspired by their spiritual journey. The name “Premanjali” means “An Offering of Divine Love,” reflecting the overarching intention behind all their music and events. The couple resides in Devon, UK, where they passionately share their music with others through concerts and retreats. Their songs are heartfelt prayers, weaving together Elise’s rich, angelic vocals on guitar and harmonium with Charlie’s intricate and beautifully crafted instrumental melodies on the hang drum and uplifting percussion. Through captivating compositions, they skillfully blend the transformative power of ancient mantras with original English lyrics, creating a unique and contemporary kirtan concert experience. Their love for connection and community engagement leads them to festivals and events in the UK and abroad, where they share their music internationally alongside some of the world’s most celebrated sacred music artists, including Deva Premal & Miten, Mirabai Ceiba, and Brenda McMorrow, to name a few. Formerly known as ‘Elise & Charlie,’ this duo, which has been together for five years, is currently working on their second co-produced album. This upcoming album will be released under their new band name, Premanjali, following the support of fans in a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2024.
