Discovering Liveability: LLEH Coffee & Connect

What you need to know

LLEH Coffee & Connect: A short informal, online networking event for anyone involved or interested in suicide research that engages with, or is about lived and/or living experiences of suicide.

The  Discovering Liveability Lived and Living Experience Hub (LLEH) will host researchers with lived and living experience of suicide and provide a space and opportunities for connection, collaboration and knowledge exchange. It will bring together the knowledge and expertise of a whole range of collaborators: researchers, practitioners, activists and people with lived experience- both nationally and internationally.

As we grow and develop the Hub this on-line event offers an opportunity to meet and connect with others doing this work, share experiences, and learn from each other. It is a space for introductions, and new collaborations

Who is it for:

Anyone with an interest in suicide research that seeks to include lived and living experiences of suicide in any way, including

  • Students or researchers (with or without their own lived/living experiences of suicide), doing suicide research about or with people with lived/living experiences of suicide.

  • People with lived/living experiences of suicide that advise on, inform, collaborate or lead research about suicide from a lived experience perspective.

  • Anyone who is interested in suicide research that engages with, or is about lived and/or living experiences of suicide.

What to expect:

It will be a short (1 hour) on-line meeting space where participants will be divided into small break out rooms to allow space for connection and conversation. Discussion prompts could be things like

  1. Tell us about the research you are working on, or involved with – or what your ideas/hopes for future research/involvement might be.

  1. What are a few of the biggest challenges you have found or anticipate when engaging with or doing lived experience suicide research?

  1. What do you love most about it?

We expect that there might be some common themes from what people share that we can look to unpack at future events.

Sharing

This event is an informal meeting space for anyone interested in or doing lived experience suicide research to connect and share their thoughts or experiences about this work. There is no expectation for people to share their lived/living experiences of suicide.
