Trauma Informed Legal Practice & Vicarious Trauma: Professor Jen Ang and Fiona McPhail
In this workshop students will be introduced to TILP and given the opportunity to apply some of the theories behind trauma informed practice to case studies concerning asylum seekers, persons in housing crisis and survivors of gender-based violence. The workshop will also draw upon the relationship between TILP and the management of vicarious trauma amongst professionals working in these fields of practice, giving students an opportunity to reflect on steps they can take as of now to improve their resilience to the effects of trauma.
