This 3-day workshop will be of interest to anyone working in a research support role, including finance, administration, contracts and intellectual property, governance and communications. The aims of the workshop are for participants to develop useful professional networks, gain skills and knowledge that will empower them in their job roles, and share their expertise with colleagues from other institutions.

Comprised of facilitated sessions based around practical skills development, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with funders and research professional from a wide range of job roles and geographies. The specific agenda will be developed in response to the needs of participants, as identified through the registration process. Topics at previous workshops included managing diverse portfolios, due diligence processes, evidence of expenditure, reporting, communications, and building a budget.

The workshop format is interactive and based on co-learning, with a “flat” structure – everyone is considered an equal peer, without hierarchies. We ask that all attendees are fully present for all three days of the workshop and that they are prepared to engage as a student and as a teacher – to listen actively to others and to contribute your own experiences through table discussions and activities.

The workshop is conducted in English and we are not able to provide translation. Attendees should have a working knowledge of English to enable full participation.
