What you need to know

In-person event on Tuesday 18 March 2025 11:30-13:00

This is a workshop aimed at REF Impact Leads, REF impact prospect assessment group members, and other colleagues involved or interested in the identification and development of potential REF Impact Case Studies for REF2029. The workshop is organised by the Research Services REF Impact Team at University of Glasgow in collaboration with the College Impact Teams at each College. It is open to all staff at University of Glasgow.

This workshop is part of a bigger programme of training and accompanying resources in response to feedback from REF2021 aiming to further enhance the quality and consistency of assessment of potential REF Impact Case Studies across all Schools and Colleges at the University of Glasgow. Before attending this workshop we recommend that you have attended the previous ‘Orientation for REF impact assessment’ workshop, or watched the online version of this, and familiarised yourself with the criteria for assessing REF impact prospects

In this workshop we will:

  • Provide a refresher on the UofG process and criteria that underpins the identification of potential REF2029 impact case studies.
  • Explore how to identify impact prospects with potential to develop into strong REF impact case studies through presentations, discussion, and exercises.
  • Direct you to useful resources, people, and future training opportunities.

If you have any questions about this workshop or REF2029 at University of Glasgow you can explore our REF2029 Intranet which is open to all staff, or contact us at ref@glasgow.ac.uk.

If this time and date is not suitable for you, there is an alternative online version of this workshop on 11 March as well as College based iterations in CoSECoSS, and MVLS.

CoAH is working to a different schedule for identifying potential impact case studies, colleagues in CoAH are very welcome to join any workshops delivered in spring 2025 but will also be provided additional opportunity in the summer.
