In 2023, the European Commission created a flurry of excitement in competition circles, when it revised its Guidance on exclusionary abuses under Article 102 TFEU and announced it would adopt Guidelines for the first time. Many started debating the direction it would take, delving into the policy brief the Commission shared. When the draft Guidelines became available for consultation in 2024, the debate intensified, with much reflection on where the Guidelines change the direction of the Commission and where they stay the same. Linsey McCallum has been closely involved in this process, playing a pivotal role in the discussions. As Deputy Director General Antitrust and Regulation of Digital Platforms, she has been closely involved in the shaping of policy and the new guidelines on exclusionary abuses.

On 21 February, we welcome Linsey McCallum back to the University of Glasgow. We will hear from her about the new Guidelines, and have a chance to hear reflections on these changes from eminent commentators. Join us for this important discussion on the future shape of abuse of dominance in the EU. This event is in-person only. Please register here to secure your place in the audience.
