What you need to know

The new ‘GlaswegAsians – The contribution of the South Asians in World War 2’ exhibition at Kelvingrove Art Gallery covers the story of Force K6 (a unique contingent of soldiers that trained in Scotland in World War 2, 14 of them died here with 13 graves in the Highlands of Scotland) and has the Victoria Cross of Captain Gian Singh on display.

The Kelvingrove Art Gallery has the Empire exhibition featuring exhibits related to the slave trade and items from present day Pakistan, including a huge wooden door made in Sargodha, Pakistan from Tea crates sent from Scotland to ship back tea leaves.

We are delighted that Dr Saqib Razzaq, Colourful Heritage, has invited us to tour the exhibitions at 2pm, 4th of September.

Meeting Place: 'Ground floor' coffee area, Kelvingrove Art Gallery (this is above the lower ground floor level cafe).
