For University of Glasgow Staff and Students.
Please join us for the "Understanding Racism and Transforming University Cultures - 4 Years On" event on March 27, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Senate Room, Gilmorehill campus.
This event marks a significant milestone in our ongoing journey towards racial equality and inclusivity since the publication of the Understanding Racism and Transforming University Cultures report and action plan in February 2021. As we approach the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21, we are reminded of the urgent need to continue our efforts in combating racial discrimination and fostering a truly inclusive academic environment.
Over the past four years, our university has made strides in addressing racial inequalities and promoting diversity. However, the work is far from over. This event provides an opportunity to reflect on our progress, share experiences, and chart a course for future action.
Principal, Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, and Vice Principal Ms Uzma Khan, Co-Chair of the Race Equality Group, will offer insights into our institutional journey. We'll hear updates from members of our university community, including:
A panel discussion featuring student representatives and colleagues Ms Zandra Yeaman and Dr Kevin Leomo will provide a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas.
A light lunch and networking opportunities will be provided.
