What you need to know

Year 10 and 11 students and their parents, from both Walthamstow Hall and other schools, are invited to find out more about the subjects and co-curricular opportunities offered in Walthamstow Hall's Year 12 and 13 at our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 5 October.

The event will be held on site in Walthamstow Hall's dedicated Sixth Form building, The Lang Centre. Heads of Department, supported by colleagues and current Sixth Form students will be on hand to discuss their subjects within their classrooms. There will also be the chance to learn more about the Sixth Form co-curricular programme, leadership opportunities and support including; 

  • Bar Mock Trial
  • Careers - including Apprenticeship applications
  • Drama - Senior Production, Trinity Drama Awards
  • Duke of Edinburgh Silver and Gold Awards
  • Enterprise
  • House Captains, Prefects and Subject Captains
  • Model United Nations
  • Music - Orchestra, Senior Choirs and Ensembles, ABRSM
  • 'Future Ready' - Life and Study Skills
  • Sport - Senior Teams and Sixth Form Clubs/Activities and coaching opportunities
  • UCAS Team including specialist applications e.g. Oxbridge, Medicine, Veterinary and International

The evening will run from 5.30 - 7.30pm.

The evening will start with talks from Headmistress Louise Chamberlain, Head of Sixth Form Becky Brown and Director of Studies Polly Evernden. These will take place from 5.30pm in The Ship Theatre which is situated at the heart of the campus opposite the Science Block. After the talks parents and students can meet Heads of Department in the nearby Sixth Form Centre.

From the front gate, the Ship Theatre can be reached by turning left and following the path around to the right.

From the main car park, the Ship Theatre can be reached by following the path along the side of the Swimming Pool, past the Sixth Form Centre on the right and then up the steps opposite the Science Block. The theatre is on the right at the top of the steps.
