- The landfill area is out of bounds unless you are on a walk guided by one of our volunteers or staff. Please stay with your group and listen carefully to any instructions. Children must be closely supervised. There are gas pipes across the site and care must be taken not to disturb them. The ground on the landfill can be uneven so stout shoes are recommended. There are also ticks on site so long trousers are recommended.
- No smoking anywhere on site.
- Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short lead at all times. All areas of the site are used for visiting schools so any mess must be cleared up and taken home with you. We do not have facilities here for disposing of dog poo bags.
- Please refer to the map given to you when you arrive, which shows the areas you can explore alone, and which are out of bounds.
- Whilst at Carymoor, parents/carers are responsible for their children and must closely supervise them at all times. We do have areas of open water around the site.
- Our staff are all first aid trained and will carry first aid kits but the responsibility for any first aid rests with parents/carers and visitors.
- Please make sure you come prepared for the weather conditions on the day. Long trousers and enclosed shoes/wellies are recommended as there are ticks on the site.
- Our education centre has hand washing facilities, accessible toilets and baby changing facilities.
If you have any questions or queries about our open day, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 01963 351350, or e-mail administrator@carymoor.org.uk
