Come and spend a rejuvenating and relaxing day with us at the Carymoor Nature Reserve.

This mini retreat offers you the opportunity to relax with a one hour restorative yoga session and a seperate guided meditation session, both hosted in our beautiful eco-friendly building and warmed by our log burner.

During the day we will explore the Carymoor Nature Reserve, harvest some willow and create a beautiful willow reminder of your time away from it all.

Sessions will be in a relaxed and creative style, suitable for beginners and beyond.

Refreshments and hot drinks will be provided.  Please bring your own lunch.

We intend for this event to happen whatever the weather so please come prepared for spending some time out of doors.

What to expect:

A small group of a maximum of 6.   The yoga and craft sessions will be split into 2 groups with a maximum of 3 people in each.

The yoga session will be led by experienced yoga teacher Jo Richards.

Please bring your own lunch and clothing and footwear suitable for the weather.  (Yoga and Meditation will be held indoors)

*Please note, that whilst the yoga sessions are suitable for beginners, for those participants with physical injury or health issues, it’s the clients responsibility to seek medical advice prior to attending.   Sessions are not suitable for pregnant ladies.

Information

The post code for the Carymoor Environmental Centre is BA7 7NR. If using Google Maps please search for Dimmer Landfill Site near Castle Cary, as we share the same main gate.

By road: Coming off the B3153 on to Dimmer Lane, you’ll see a sign for the Dimmer landfill site and Recycling Centre. Follow this road until you come to a farm on a left hand bend and turn immediately right. You’ll see the signs here for the Dimmer site and for Carymoor. At the end of this road you’ll pass the recycling centre on your right and come to some traffic lights at the main gate of the landfill site.

  • Please queue up at the lights until you get a green light. Once the light is green, go through the main gates and turn immediately left before the weighbridge (ignore the wooden building and car park by the weighbridge – this is the landfill site operator’s offices).
  • Please note there is a 10mph speed limit on the site. You’ll see a big white sign on the bank with Carymoor on it and then green arrows with ‘Carymoor’ marked on them to direct you.

Keep going up over the hill, past a large compost operation on your left, and at the bottom of the hill you’ll see the centre and the car park on the left hand side.
