This training will support Governors monitoring Early Reading and Phonics in their schools.

• Understanding the importance of Phonics and how it is taught effectively, showing fidelity to the school’s chosen SSP programme.

• How to monitor that children have appropriately matched decodable reading books.

• How to analyse data to monitor children’s progress and attainment.
