Teaching Phonological Awareness

Aimed at: Early Years Practitioners in Pre-Schools & Nurseries

This course aims to provide Early Years Practitioners with knowledge of and practical strategies for teaching phonological awareness:

DURING THIS TRAINING WE WILL EXPLORE:

• what is phonological awareness;

• how phonemic awareness relates to phonological awareness;

• the importance of teaching phonological awareness, pre-phonics; 

• the difference between phonological awareness and Systematic Synthetic Phonics;

• what teaching phonological awareness looks like in practice;

• practical ideas, strategies and resources for teaching phonological awareness.
