Responsive Reading Strategies: comprehension, vocabulary and adaptive approaches

During the workshop, participants will cover:

• Explore the challenge of reading comprehension and curriculum access

• Get reading ready for new curriculum and assessment changes

• Utilise reading opportunities and meet challenges across the curriculum

• Use the READS Framework to plan purposeful, structured reading lessons and tasks

• Develop pupils’ vocabulary in context to support comprehension and meaning-making

• Check for understanding throughout reading and respond effectively in the moment

• Strengthen adaptive teaching through informed, responsive instructional decisions.
