We are excited to invite you to join us for our prestigious Gala Awards dinner, this year being held at the Sea Life Centre in London. Originally postponed from June 2020 we are ending the 2021 with a bang so why not join us for a big Christmas Party and bring along your colleagues, partners and friends to enjoy the festive spirit!
Come and join us at this wonderful venue, a first for the Security Institute! This is set to be a fantastic evening starting off with arrival drinks with the sharks in The Pacific Wreck and The Coral, followed by the presentation of awards and then an outstanding 3 course meal in Atlantic Cove to finish off the evening.
Dress Code: Lounge Suit, Christmas Dresses or anything that sparkles!
The evening will include:
- Fantastic drinks receptions including Interactive dive with the dive team in the shark tank
- 3 course meal, coffee and petit fours
- Inclusive wine, beer and soft drinks
- Presentation of awards
- Networking with fellow SyI members
This event is for both Security Institute members and non-members, numbers are limited and booking is essential.

The Security Institute Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements and contributions of our members and colleagues in the security sector from the past year.
We are pleased to announce that nominations are now OPEN for our 2021 Awards Gala Dinner for the following categories; (we welcome self-nominations as well as peer and colleague nominations)
‘Outstanding Contribution to Security Award’ in memory of George van Schalkwyk This award will recognise a Security Institute member who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the security profession.
‘Institute Learner of the Year Award’ in memory of John AplinThis award will recognise a Security Institute member who has recently (from January 2019 to date) finished their Security Institute Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in Security Management, and demonstrated that they have put their learnings into effective practice.
‘President’s Award for an Outstanding Young Professional’ This award celebrates the next generation of security leaders, and will recognise a Security Institute member under the age of 35 who has personally had a positive impact on their organisation or the wider security sector.
'International Achiever of the Year Award' This award will recognise a Security Institute member who has made a significant contribution to security outside the UK.
‘Volunteer of the Year Award’ This award will recognise an Institute member who has made a significant voluntary contribution to the Institute, for example through the Membership Management Advisory Group, Validation Board, Special Interest Groups, Young Members Group, helping out at exhibitions, and other volunteer roles within the SyI.

Information
SEA LIFE London Aquarium is located on the South bank of the river Thames, within the County Hall building. We are situated right next to the Coca-Cola London Eye, just over Westminster Bridge from Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament. There are a variety of ways to get to SEA LIFE London Aquarium, however we recommend public transport.
The nearest train station is Waterloo. From Waterloo follow the exit signs for the South Bank and walk towards the Coca-Cola London Eye. SEA LIFE London Aquarium is in County Hall, next to the Coca-Cola London Eye.
Charing Cross train station is also near to SEA LIFE London Aquarium. From Charing Cross take the exit next to platform 1 for Hungerford Bridge; go over the bridge and follow signs for Jubilee Gardens. Follow the river front past the Coca-Cola London Eye and the Aquarium is on your left.
The nearest tube stations are Westminster and Waterloo. Westminster tube is on the Circle, Jubilee and District lines. From Westminster, exit onto Westminster Bridge (Exit 1) and then cross over the Bridge. SEA LIFE London Aquarium is visible from the bridge. Waterloo tube is on the Northern, Bakerloo, Waterloo & City lines. From Waterloo follow the exit signs for the South Bank (Exit 6) and walk towards the Coca-Cola London Eye. SEA LIFE London Aquarium is in County Hall, next to the Coca-Cola London Eye.
