 The NVTMU oversees the National Barrier Asset (NBA), which is an extensive amount of temporary rated vehicle security barriers and protective security fencing that is deployed a part of hostile vehicle mitigation schemes to protect venues and public spaces. 

 The NBA is available to be deployed as an emergency or for planned events to support Police, Authorities and Commercial Organisations. 

 The unit undertakes assessments, provides counter vehicle as a weapon tactical advice, delivers practical solutions through the provision of the NBA, and have delivered protection to a myriad of events such as the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III Coronation, Paris Olympics and NATO25.
